Biosecurity is extremely important to us. To ensure that we maintain a healthy herd, we test each year for CAE & spot test for Johnes. A blood sample is sent in from each animal in our herd. Exceptions to this rule are previously tested does due to kid within 10 weeks of testing, (which will then be tested during our next round of sampling) and kids under 1 year of age. We are very careful in selecting livestock from clean tested herds to bring in to our farm. Animals that have joined our farm will be screened for CAE & Johnes at our next sampling.
