Biosecurity is extremely important to us. To ensure that we maintain a healthy herd, we test each Fall for CAE & Johnes by sending in blood work from each animal to be tested. A sample is sent in from each animal in our herd. Exceptions to this rule are previously tested does due to kid within 6 weeks of testing and kids under six months of age. We are very careful in selecting livestock from clean tested herds to bring in to our farm. Animals that have joined our farm will be screened for CAE & Johnes at our next Fall sampling.
